After their wedding at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church on 20 June 1939, my paternal grandparents Henry Cornelius Gatlin and Helen Martha Marie Anderson had their reception at the Fairfax Hotel. The hotel was located in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, ten minutes away from the Loop.
The hotel is now the Fairfax Apartments. The building belongs to the University of Chicago.
