St. Brigid's Cross

Since today is Good Friday, I thought it was an appropriate day to post about a cross that belonged to my paternal grandparents Henry and Helen (Anderson) Gatlin.


This cross is a St. Brigid's cross. It was made in Ireland. It came with the tag below, which explains that the cross is traditionally placed over a door or fireplace to ensure health, prosperity, and protection against winds.
