From the Nashville Whig (Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee):

COMMITTED to the Jail of Davidson county, state of Tennessee, on the 5th of October 1825, a black NEGRO MAN, with a scar on the back of his right hand, and a black spot on one of his upper fore teeth about thirty five years old, who says his name is Isaac, and that he belongs to John Eblin of Roane county in Tennesse [sic], 6 miles from South West Point. The owner is requested to come and bring proof and prove his property, pay charges and take him away.
